Lots of people bring their dogs camping at Sunset Bay State Park. It's pet-friendly. One couple even had their pet ferrets...three of them! Most campers follow the rules and keep their pets on a leash in the park. The ferret couple stuffed them in their shirts and carried them around. For those who don't know the rules, there are helpful signs to remind them. I especially like this one...
The sign reads, "NOTICE DOG OWNERS DOG NUISANCES MUST BE REMOVED"
I'd never seen "nuisances" used as a synonym this way. I'll have to remember this the next time I say to someone, "I hope I'm not being a nuisance." It's a whole new meaning!
It could extend to the dog itself. Or, the owner, since a nuisance dog began with an irresponsible owner.
ReplyDeleteHa! That's pretty funny, all right. :-)
ReplyDeleteSunset Bay as in Coos Bay? When is your day off? We could meet for lunch. I left you my email, for when you get down here; if you camp where you did last, we're just a bike ride away, or a canoe ride away. We definitely have to have you over for a long conversation and a cooking party.

ReplyDeleteI like the Woof Waste idea.
ReplyDeleteUsing the word "nuisance" for doggy do is quite creative. Scoop your poop works for me.
ReplyDeleteMy five little dogs have never been to a dog park. I'd be afraid of fleas, aggressive dogs, parvovirus, etc.

Another sign is needed for ferrets.
ReplyDeleteIt is an odd way to say "poop" but it really is a "nuisance" when you step in it...
