Serving the Blogosphere for 3 Years!

Today is the third anniversary of this blog.  It is hard to believe that I have stuck with this for three years and even harder to believe that I have been retired for four years.  The blog name is no longer relevant.  I started writing the year I was looking forward to turning 60.  It seemed to be a benchmark in my life.  Now I've turned 62 and that 60th benchmark is long past, but I'm still here writing.  I am grateful to all of you who have enriched my life by sharing your wisdom and life experiences.  I feel blessed to have friends across the world who have helped me learn and grow.  Blogging has been one of the best gifts of retirement.  Thanks for sticking with me and supporting my efforts.

  2. Congratulations! I am glad to have met you in this wonderful land of blog.

I started posting two years ago this month, right after I retired. It has helped me get through the difficult transition and I have met so many interesting people from all over the globe. It has been a great ride and although I have cut back some, I could not imagine not being part of the Blogosphere.

  3. No thanks necessary. I read you for my own pleasure.
    Hardly seems like three years!

  4. And because of the blogosphere, we are now "skin" friends, too! After having a bloggers' retreat in October and meeting you, I cannot imagine not having you in my life. Congratulations on three years, and I think that a benchmark is just that: a point of reference by which other parts of your life can be compared. Still relevant! :-)

  6. Happy anniversary and here's to many more. I've only recently discovered your blog and am enjoying catching up with it. I'll reach my second blog birthday next month and can hardly believe it either.

  7. Thanks for sticking with your efforts! Thanks for reading my blog and becoming my very first follower. Thanks for encouraging me. Mostly, thanks for being a part of this blogging world that is made up of some of the most amazing real people. One of the highlights of my year was meeting you. Congrats! Keep on blogging. I love how DJan calls you a "skin" friend. You are my dear "skin" friend too.

  8. I don't know, Jann...perhaps the blog's name IS relevant. Age sixty seems to have been a crucial year of change for you, as if your life could be described as Before Sixty (B.S.) and After Sixty Seasons (A.S.S.)! I greatly appreciate your perspective on life.

Benchmark 60 is truly a journal of a life that looks back with wisdom upon the years before a great milestone. Keep it up!

In many ways, I'd like to be like YOU when I grow up!

    :)

  9. Happy Anniversary Jann!! I am a little late to the party, but better late than never, right?

It is amazing to know that it has been three years!! I think it has been four for me, and man...my blog has served as a perfect tool for me to get stuff off my chest and out of my head. It really has been the best form of therapy for me.

Here's to three more (and MANY more)!! :)

  10. Here’s to the next three years! I am raising my glass to salute you.
I know what you mean about this strange place of ours, often I think I have nothing left to say, but somehow I can’t drag myself away.
