Hunter's Best Friend Went to Kindergarten Today

What do you do when your sister and best friend starts kindergarten?

Go to the park all by yourself and eat cookies!

Even Nana felt a little lost this morning after Megan left for school, so I suggested to Hunter that we go to the park.  We packed a snack and walked the few short blocks to the park.  When we got there Hunter looked around and said "There's nobody here."  It's hard to be the little sister and left behind.

  1. That's so sad! But she's learning well how to cope with trauma ... eat cookies alone.

  2. Oh, how sad. This is so sweet. Hunter is a beautiful girl.

  3. I enjoyed reading your posts. You are a devoted grandma. I just wrote a book for grandparents: Preparing My Heart for Grandparenting: For Grandparents at Any Stage of the Journey. You can learn more here: www.preparingmyheart.net.

    Happy Grandpareting!

  4. Oh, this feels sad! She needs friends.

  5. Big times for the whole family. Both girls are adorable. I hope the first day went well for older sister and that younger learns how to embrace the gift of undivided attention soon.

  6. Oh gosh, that was exactly how it was when my Abby was left behind. She worshipped her big sis', and was totally lost! My goodness, isn't your little grandaughter breath-takingly beautiful? Bet she is so glad you are around right now!

(Thank you for your kind words in response to my last comment, I was away at the time, and have only recently recieved them. It lifted me (smile).
